Kinoma Producer 3 supports Sony PlayStation Portable

Award-winning video encoding software now targets popular handheld gaming console.

Palo Alto, Calif. (Press from PRWEB) May 23, 2005 - Today Kinoma, Inc. enhanced their award winning Kinoma Producer 3 software by adding high quality video encoding for Sony’s popular PlayStation Portable (PSP). Getting video onto a PSP has never been easier – simply select the video files and desired quality level and Kinoma Producer 3 goes to work, transforming the video into a high quality PSP compatible format. The video is then copied to a Memory Stick Duo, ready for immediate playback on PSP. For quick browsing on the PSP, Kinoma Producer 3 automatically creates a thumbnail image for each video clip.

Kinoma Producer 3 is designed for people who don’t want to waste their time becoming video compression experts. With an easy to understand interface and carefully selected video encoding presets, Kinoma Producer 3 takes the guesswork out of transferring video to the PSP. The same power and ease of Kinoma Producer 3 is available for users of both Windows and Mac OS X.

Users of video on computers have long had to grapple with the wide variety of digital video file formats. Kinoma Producer 3 eliminates this confusion by converting most commonly used video files into a PSP compatible format. Both Windows and Macintosh users can convert AVI, DV, MPEG-4, 3GPP, QuickTime, and MPEG files, in addition to most other QuickTime compatible files. Windows users can also convert Windows Media compatible files including Windows Media Video and ASF files, as well as most DirectShow compatible video file formats.

“Kinoma is the first to deliver ‘drag and drop & port’ ease for getting personal video onto the PSP,” says Richard Doherty, Research director for the Envisioneering Group. “Kinoma handles all the tricky audio and video encoding, delivering a wide range of PSP video screen modes and playback economies. That means longer playtime per Memory Stick and faster drag and drop porting as you race out the door.”
