Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire PSP Game Reviews:
Aaron L. Shaw "Casual Reviewer" (Provo, UT USA) - It's about time. A fun Harry Potter Game. What you have heard is true. This is an action Harry Potter game. I love it. It will keep the attention of anyone who has not been a fan in the past. This is because this is an action game where as the other potter games have been a hunt for and talk to collect-a-thon. Is there talking this time? Yes, but only while you are fihghting. In fact, you do not have to read anything if you do not want to. Excellent audio samples and voice acting. The game is fast, fun and creative. You will casts numerous spells. A big complaint has been that you don't pick your spells, you just always press the same button and perform whatever spell fits the situation. BUt I like it. It would slow down the action if you had to go through some menu, and it would limit the spells if they were limited to the number of buttons. Bottom line: Great action game. If you remotely like the series, you will finaly love the game.

A Kid's Review - I had been waiting 4 months for this game to come out, and it was worth the wait! This game is incredible! The graphics are some of the best on the PSP, The controls are very easy to get use to, and the game-play is just plain fun. The levels are sometimes a little hard, but when you die you just come back to life agian whithout having to restart the level. The levels span from collecting glowing magic shields to out-flying dragons. Over all I think this is the best Harry Potter game to date!

PSP Tiger Woods PGA Tour Game Reviews
Smithy1185 (San Diego, CA USA) - If you want a portable golf game that is very close to matching the console versions, then look no further. This is a great game that is a lot of fun to play and take with you on the PSP. This version still has the feature where you create your own golfer with lots of customizable options. You can also upgrade their skill points after earning some cash on the green. Its true that the load times are pretty long. Easily the longest I have seen when compared to the other PSP games I have. However, don't let that scare you off from playing a great game. The controls are very well done although its not quite as easy as on the consoles. Also, this game is much better on the PSP than it is on the GBA or DS. Anyways, this game is worth getting if your a golf fan and want a new game for your PSP.

Gerald D. Avery "Movie Buff" (Chicago, Illinois) - I love playing this game. This was one of the first titles I bought for my PSP when it was released. Granted some of the load times are a bit long, but if you have some time to spend you should definitely give this game a shot. The graphics are great for a handheld game. No other game even comes close to matching it. The real fun for me is the challenge of creating a golfer from scratch and improving upon his attributes until he's able to compete with Tiger or Vijay. I play as Tiger and win as much money as I can so that I can improve my created golfer. That's the quickest way to earn lots of money so that your golfer can be competitive in a short amount of time. I highly recommend this game. I think it's well worth the $50.00 you'll spend to get it. I hope this review was helpful...

PSP Spider-Man 2 Game Reviews
Brian Reaves (Anniston, AL USA)
- If you own the PS2 version of Spider Man 2, that may have scared you off from buying this one. Don't let it! This is really a good game all by itself, and it is completely different from the PS2 version that came out last year. The graphics in the cutscenes are amazing (much better than the PS2), and the real actor's voices are used again. Gameplay is relatively simple to catch onto (there's a tutorial, but no Bruce Campbell this time). It's a great introduction to the PSP, and I'd highly recommend it as a starter game. If this is how it's going to be, then the PSP is going to rule!

PSP Twisted Metal: Head On Game Reviews
blackaciddevil (in the USA somewhere.....) - One of the things that Sony did right during its' launch was listening to the people and giving them what they wanted during the PSP's launch in the way of games. One of the games that people were wanting was a Twisted Metal to play on the go. So, Sony gives us Twisted Metal: Head On. I must admit, I've been a Twisted Metal fanatic for quite sometime but this one blows them all away(except for TM2: World Tour, of course)...quite literally. I was simply amazed when I first booted up my PSP and saw Head On in action. It does provide fast-paced vehicular combat and destruction for an addictive pick-up and play experience. The fact that I can play this on the go is what blows me away..I just can't believe it. Out of all the PSP games I have, this is the one that has kept me occupied the longest. I don't have any gripes with this one...no siree. It's definitely a must have for all PSP owners.

PSP Bundle w/ Console & 5 Games - Review
D. Keh "Electro-wireless Gadget Lover" (OC, CA, USA) - The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the shining, crystal clear, liquid-like 4.5" screen! If you cover the control pad and buttons to reveal just the screen, you might think this is a tiny Plasma screen you're holding! I also own a Nintendo DS, so I am being very fair here; the dual screens is a nice touch; my wife loves to play ZooKeeper using the stylus; but compare the screens to the Sony PSP's screen, it is not as sharp as the PSP.

The menu on the PSP is pretty intuitive, easy to navigate. Control pad and buttons are layout just like a regular Sony PS2 controller, except the joystick on the PSP, it looks like a round tape covering a hole or something, and I almost thought it is something I should remove. The analog pad is a little hard to use when playing any game requires precised movement, like Super bobble pop type of game, or shooters using cross-hair; but once get used to it, not a problem.

I also tried some MPEG4 video playback using a 512MB MS Duo, now this is what a portable AV player should be! It's like watching a DVD movie on a plasma tv, smaller of course! No wonder Sony is going to including SpiderMan 2 movie for the first 1 million PSP shipped in the US. Watch it and you will see what I mean.

PSP Ridge Racer Game Reviews
Chris Lee Mullins (Highlands Ranch, CO) - Ridge Racer was the first game I ever played on the original PlayStation. I spent hours upon hours playing it. I figured, just for nostalgia's sake, I'd pick up Ridge Racer while buying Sony's new PSP, see if the magic remained. Yeah....almost everything about this game is perfect. Impressive graphics. Responsive and intuitive controls. At first I was worried about playing a driving sim with the PSP's tiny analog stick, but it works wonderfully. Great music. I was also worried about playing a driving sim on such a small screen. How would I be able to pick up on visual cues that a sharp turn was imminent? Somehow, the game designers throw in enough visual cues, almost subliminally. Ridge Racer for the PSP borrows liberally from previous iterations like Rave Racer, etc... Just about every track looked familiar to me, every piece of music, too. I didn't recognize all of the content, but enough to realize that not everything here is new. So far, I've purchased Wipeout Pure, Ridge Racer and Lumines for the PSP. Ridge Racer has gotten about 90% of the attention. If you get the PSP, get Ridge Racer, if only just to show off what your new PSP can do.

PSP Need for Speed: Underground Rivals Game Reviews
N. Itro Blasta "Psyko" (Portland, ME) - I picked up a PSP and this game recently. It's very similiar to the PS2 version with racing circuits, drag racing, buying new cars, etc. It's great to play on a PSP with the earbuds nobody gets annoyed with cranking up the volume...I do get annoyed glances from the occassional maniacal outbursts though! The music is awesome...great hip-hop and metal tunes that help get the blood flowing, particularly when it's loud and your goin' 120 through a city (another plus with the buds).

Be ready for some unbelievable action with speeds of up to 130 mph through city streets/tunnels, weaving in and out of traffic...also there's lots of different cars to slip into(foreign and domestic, tricked-up, muscle cars, etc.)

Secondly, hang on for your life because this game isn't just about skill...it's about how close to the edge you dare to go (I've plummeted over that edge many a time and it's breathtakingly fun!) Good luck!

Sony PSP - Playstation Portable

The era of no-compromises handheld gaming has arrived. Get ready for immersive, 3D gaming on a portable console that is poised to change the way we think about gaming devices. With wireless internet, video and digital music playback, and incredible data storage and connectivity options, the Sony PSP, or PlayStation Portable, is a complete solution for the mobile digital lifestyle. Sony has combined both horsepower and groundbreaking features into a package that weighs just a hair more than half a pound.

Playstation Portable Design: The Sony PSP's exceptional performance comes from a 333 MHz processor that dwarfs the speed of competing handheld consoles. Add this polygon-pushing muscle to 4 MB of fast DRAM and 32 MB of embedded RAM, and you've got a device with graphics rendering capabilities close to that of the PlayStation2 (PS2). And because no game is complete without audio, the Sony PSP is generously appointed with built-in stereo speakers, as well as Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound capability. Sony has also pulled out all the stops with the PSP LCD display. The bright, 4.3-inch LCD sports a 16:9 aspect ratio and 480 x 272 pixel resolution--plenty of real estate for heavy gaming action and widescreen-format movies. All of this is powered by a removable, and rechargeable, lithium-ion battery.

PSP Screen Resolution: The 4.3-inch display sports a 16:9 aspect ratio and 480 x 272 pixel resolution. Movies and games on the go have never been more gorgeous.

PSP Controls: From a controls perspective, the Sony PSP is made for gaming. If you're familiar with a PlayStation controller, you'll be a pro at the PSP's controls in no time. Directional buttons, as well as an analog stick are provided. Meanwhile, the familiar left and right shoulder buttons, as well as triangle, circle, cross and square buttons are integrated into the device's slim case. Finally, home, select, and start buttons give you quick access and control over the PSP's important functions. To have and to hold: The PSP's easy-to-master controls are cleverly integrated into the device's slim profile.

Sony PSP UMD Mini discPlaystation Portable Supported Media: At the heart of the Sony PSP is a new, proprietary media format known as the Universal Media Disc, or UMD. Each UMD can hold 1.8 GB of data, enough room for rich and complex games. UMDs, which are housed in a protective cover, slide into the rear of the PSP. Sony has declared the UMD an open format for developers and media content owners, so movies, music and other media are on the horizon from third parties. Sony has also signed on many popular game developers for the platform, so a deep library of PSP game titles are on tap.

While the UMD is great for read-only media such as games and movies, Sony solves the problem of data storage with the addition of a Memory Stick Duo slot. With Memory Stick Duo media, you can store your saved PSP games, downloaded online content, personal video and audio files, and more. When you want access to these files from your PC, simply use the PSP's USB 2.0 port to turn the device into a fast portable media drive. Then, drag and drop files such as your photos, MP3s, and videos onto the Playstation Portable, just as you would any other removable storage device. The Sony PSP ships with a 32 MB Memory Stick Duo, and additional media with higher storage capacities are available.

Major media: Sony's PSP-compatible Universal Media Disc (UMD) can hold 1.8 GB of data.

Sony PSP Connectivity: The PSP blows away the competition in the connectivity department. Indeed, the PSP's ability to connect to the internet, and to other PSPs and USB-based peripherals, is a real advantage. At the top of the list is Wifi connectivity, or IEEE 801.11b. Use this wireless internet standard to connect to other gamers around the world for hot multiplayer action--all from your couch, or your local Wifi hotspot. As mentioned, the PSP's USB 2.0 port is great for PC connectivity, but it also opens the Playstation Portable up for a whole range of future peripherals. Sony has plans for the PSP in other ways, too; the unit's infrared port speaks of remote control capabilities in the near future.

PSP, A Digital Companion: If you haven't already guessed, Sony has positioned the Playstation Portable to be much more than a gaming device. Out of the box, the device is ready to serve as a portable video player and photo viewer. By using the new H.264 MPEG-4 video standard, Sony obviously has its eyes on making the PSP a robust video device with support for feature length movies and more. In addition, the PSP offers a great way to transport and share your photos in JPEG format. And let's not forget the music. Load up your favorite MP3-encoded songs onto a Memory Stick Duo and you've got a portable audio powerhouse. The device also supports Sony's ATRAC audio codec, so you can play songs acquired from Sony's Connect Online Music Store. Sony even ships a nifty pair of earbuds--complete with an inline remote control-- with the PSP.

What's included w/ the Playstation Portable Value Pack: PSP device, AC adapter, battery pack, 32 MB Memory Stick Duo, earbud headphones with remote control, soft case and hand strap.
